Specify reading lenses when your glasses are used for near visual tasks such as reading and writing.
Specify computer prescription when you need the glasses at approximately an arms length or computer screen distance.
Distance prescription would be for general use including driving and television.
Bifocals are D shaped. You can see distance through the top part of the lens and read through the bottom part of the lens.
Varifocals have distance prescription at the top of the lens and the prescription increases going down the lens so you can read through the bottom of the lens. There is no line as in a bifocal.
Thin or 1.6 lenses reduce weight and thickness. We recommend thin lenses on prescriptions over +/-3.00. Our thin lenses are knife edge, aspheric or high index, whichever are most suitable for the prescription.
